Privacy Policy
The short version
- SDR Pro does not collect your personal information
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email required
- No advertising or third-party tracking SDKs
- RF signal data you capture stays on your device
- Minimal permissions — only what the app needs to function
1. Introduction
Powered Sciences ("we," "us," or "our") built SDR Pro as a free Android application for Software-Defined Radio signal analysis. This Privacy Policy describes our information practices when you use the App.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through transparent data practices. If you have questions or concerns, contact us at alfred.gamulo@gmail.com.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
SDR Pro is designed to work without collecting personal data. We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Account credentials of any kind
- Location data or GPS coordinates
- Contact lists or calendar data
- Financial or payment information
- RF signal recordings or spectrum analysis you perform in the app
- Advertising identifiers (GAID)
3. Information That May Be Collected
Like most Android apps distributed via Google Play, certain technical information may be collected automatically by the operating system or Google Play Services, independent of SDR Pro itself:
Crash reports & diagnostics
Android may send crash reports to Google if you have that setting
enabled on your device. This data is governed by Google's Privacy
Policy, not ours. SDR Pro does not include its own crash reporting
SDK.
App performance metrics
Google Play may collect aggregate, anonymized statistics about
app installs and performance. This is governed by the Google Play
Developer Distribution Agreement and Google's policies. We receive
only aggregate, non-identifiable summaries (e.g., install counts).
4. Permissions
SDR Pro requests only the permissions required for SDR hardware operation:
- USB host access — to communicate with RTL-SDR dongles and compatible hardware via Android OTG
- Storage (if applicable) — only if you choose to save recordings locally to your device
We do not request permissions for contacts, location, camera, microphone, phone calls, SMS, or any other sensitive functionality unrelated to SDR operation.
5. Your RF Data
Any signals you receive, recordings you make, or spectrum captures you create within SDR Pro are stored locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to us or any third party. Deleting the app removes any app-managed local files.
6. Third-Party Services
SDR Pro does not include any third-party advertising networks, analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel), or social media SDKs.
The only third-party relationship involved in the distribution of this app is Google Play. Please review Google's Privacy Policy for information about data Google collects as part of the Play Store.
7. Children's Privacy
SDR Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. Data Security
Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data of yours stored on our servers to protect. Locally stored files on your device are subject to Android's standard app sandboxing and your device's security settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will update the in-app description on Google Play. Continued use of the App after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
10. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes relating to this policy will be resolved in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
